Creating My Robot

enviroment-what will make a good game enviroment for your robot?

this was my first design that i came up with for my robot. i had in mind the idea of a domineering robot with battle armor. to make him look more threatening. i also used the anatomy of a flies head to inspire my picture.

with my first draft out of the way i liked the fact that it looked to me like a man or alien in a robot body or even fused together. so i tried to make a cyborg alien of which had armor plates which if continued upon further could have been surgically attached ect

for my second draft i wanted to increase the detail but take inspiration from a strange animal. so with short decision i found an image of a giant isopod . which is a large crustacean related to the shrimp and crabs. i used this picture to outline the face of my character and i went off of that to make my character

for my final design i took some inspiration from other characters rather than things from the wild to create my design. i used a wide range of characters such as iron man, crysis, general grevious, spawn to mold my robot
first and second ideas for robots arms.

once i had drawn the side view i was required to draw a front view on which i had to include arms. i wanted my character to have either a very large weapon or oversized hands for extra damage. as i was going through a trail and error process to see which of my ideas would suit the character the most  i made a hand with spikes as weapons. as you can see in the picture on the left. then i made another picture with a feather like blaze running down the middle , inspired by the spikes on the first drawing. then i thought why not go all out on the swords and added iti into my final drawing ( below)
i was also required to draw my character from the back which really pulled me into what my character is going to look like. as ive never drawn something from behind it was a challenge. especially his feet as i had to think what the stone material would apear and how i would portray the texture associated.

The images i gathered below helped me get an idea of what i want my character to look like. i used the style of the first few pencil drawings in my character. I like the way iron man looks in the way that all his armor is very hightech/state of the art and how his robot suit has different plates and the way all the joints have lights on them. I chose gathered a lot of inspiration from spawn too as i love the way he portrays a average man who is the super hero yet the the villan at the same time. and you can relate to the character. i used that good/evil aspect in my alien/cyborg hybrid because it suits the background story and setting of my character.THE END WAR!!!
